Combat and Progression – Week 12 Patch Highlights

This week’s update to the Public Test Realm brings bug fixes for a number of class abilities and masteries. Thanks to detailed bug reports submitted by our players, we were able to track down and resolve several significant problems that were preventing mastery benefits from applying properly. While there are still likely more bugs to find, these fixes should allow Mastery to function more reliably during testing, which should not only improve the experience for testers, but also make it easier for us to identify and diagnose new bugs going forward.

We are also making some adjustments to Enchanter abilities this week to prepare for the introduction of the Mastery trees for the class. The two mastery trees for Enchanter (Mentalist and Coercer) will allow players to significantly modify some of their core abilities, as well as introduce additional new abilities. The adjustments in this patch are a necessary step to make sure that the base abilities will work together with the Mastery options when those become available.

What’s Next

We are forging ahead with Enchanter mastery and hope to have it available on the Public Test Realm very soon. After Enchanter, we are planning to bring in the remaining classes as quickly as possible for testing. We will also be continuing to address problems and make adjustments based on tester feedback for all of our classes in parallel to bringing the new Masteries online.

We’re also continuing to focus heavily on server stability and any bugs that impact that stability. This past week, we were able to address several problems that were contributing to zone crashes as a result of those investigations, and we plan to continue our efforts until all of the issues impacting stability have been completely resolved.

As always, we want to send a big thank you out to all our player testers who are logging onto the Public Test Realm. Your bug reports and feedback are helping us refine the changes we are making so that when we are ready to push the Combat and Progression update out to all our servers, our game can deliver a compelling and fun combat experience at all levels.
