December’s Update Lands Friday, Dec 19th

The December 2025 Update is nearly here! To wrap up this year’s updates, we’ve got a few things coming to Terminus.

Double Experience Bonus

In the spirit of the holidays and as a thank you to everyone who has been participating in Early Access so far, we have activated a double experience bonus. This bonus will remain in effect until our Combat and Progression Update which is currently targeted for Spring of 2026.

Note: In some cases, for example if you are soloing an NPC with a high group experience modifier, the amount of experience you earn will be capped for that encounter.

Mounts & Taming

Players may now tame and ride horses throughout Terminus beginning at level 20. To learn the taming skill and acquire their first mount, players should visit the stables in Demith village and speak to Stablehand Phosy. Please note that this is the initial implementation of our mounts and taming system. Additions and enhancements to this system are planned for future updates.

  • Added the “Use Mount” key mapping, currently mapped to the H key, which will call your active mount to you if you have one, dismount if you’re mounted, or mount if you’re standing close enough to your active mount. This can be remapped in the Input tab of the Settings window.
  • You can now toggle walking on/off with the period/full stop (.) key. This can also be remapped in the Input tab of the Settings window.

Other Additions for this Update

  • Global lighting has been adjusted for better visibility during nighttime hours. Night is still full of terrors, however.
  • The abandoned village of Hiryth Hill in the Silent Plains has been populated with several new NPCs. The area is designed for small group hunting around level 30.
  • General Goods vendors around Terminus seem to have acquired a stockpile of a strange and wondrous item which they are offering to passing adventurers for a minimal price. When questioned, none would reveal the source of these goods.
  • A strange magical artifact has appeared just inside the entrance of Halnir Cave. Rumors persist that a twin to this artifact exists somewhere deeper in the depths of the caverns.
  • The village of Demith has received a set dressing pass and should now look more lived-in. Additional visual improvements are planned for future updates. Note that some NPCs and crafting stations have moved around within the village as part of this pass.

Bug Fixes

  • The Unmortal Barrage ability used by some Wraith NPCs should now properly end when it reaches its full duration.
  • The Crafting Work Order “Meditation Beads” now requires the actual item to be crafted and turned in for completion.
  • The work order schematic for training tabards should now make the correct item.
  • The work order schematic for bandages should now properly accept cloth bolts.
  • The Arcanery Initiate’s Robe schematic now correctly requires a robe basis instead of a tunic basis.
  • Characters who previously completed the “Looking for Work” quest in Sorhiryth should now also be able to accept and complete the “Looking for Work” quest in Availia.
  • The work order schematic for special ink should now make the correct item.
  • Fixed an issue where the client would sometimes use the name of a group member when writing out a player’s settings.
  • Fixed an issue where a player that was renamed would leave their old name in the social/who lists.
  • Fixed the bug where pets stopped responding to player’s command after killing one of their targets.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing an object in Halnir Cave from being properly interacted with by players. Also upgraded the visual appearance of the object.
  • Fixed the bug where pets stopped responding to player’s command after killing one of their targets.

NPCs

  • Some tuning adjustments have been made to NPCs in Wildmound Cradle
  • The cooldown time for Tel’Daedras to reappear after she has been defeated has been reduced from 12 hours to 10 hours.
  • A strange individual has taken up residence just inside the main entrance to Halnir Cave. He claims to be there to collect the bones of the dead.

Items

  • Reverted the CON to INT on the Platinum Inlaid Buckler
  • Updated visual model for Roasty Toasty Pantaloons.
  • Whisperwind Asps should now yield their scales more frequently when killed.
  • The Vine-Wrapped Wristguards should now properly show a visual when equipped.
  • The drop rate on several special items in Black Rose Keep has been increased.
  • Small saddlebags have been added to General Goods vendors.
  • Wild Mindblade is now equippable in the off-hand for Rogues.
  • The following Druid spells should now be able to trigger the effect on the Tooth of the Apex when they are cast:
    • Stonevine Snag, Rockroot Tangle
    • Verdanfire Pilum
    • Shadethistle Talisman, Ironvine Talisman
    • Umbravines

The effect can no longer be triggered by AoE spells that don’t require a target for the time being.

VFX

  • Adjusted timing of Wizard focus restoration vfx.
  • Removed screenshake element from Cinder Lance and improved performance.
  • Fixed casting VFX not showing up for Arcane Cords.
  • Updated generic root VFX for some rooted status effects.
  • Wizards have a new icy comet visual effect that now comes from above at an angle similar to Cinder Lance. There will be a slight mismatch in damage and visual impact timing due to no longer using a standard projectile setup.

Gathering

Additional items may now be obtained when gathering from wild vegetables and apple trees.

Outfitting

Saddlebags may now be crafted by outfitters. Schematics are available at leatherworking trainers.

Wizard

  • Elemental Weaving properly scales with STR, DEX, AGI (DEX replacing CON). Removed % mana condition.
  • Cold AOE scrolls fixed.
  • Electrocute damage type fixed to Shock.
  • Evoke Ember level req updated.
  • Radiate Heat added to vendor.
  • Mana Current changed to grant 50% spell haste and threat generation for 15 seconds.
  • Mana and Focus recovery spells have had the shared cooldown reduced from 20 seconds to 8 seconds. Individual spells retain a 20 second cooldown, but this should allow for some more decision making and combinations of attacks.

  • Fixed the tooltip for element school of spells (Most were reading as Cold).

Known Issues and Notes

  • When wearing certain robes or armor and riding a horse, the bottom parts of the robe may clip through the horse. These visual issues will be addressed in a future update.
  • Movement speed for players mounted on horses is still undergoing tuning and may be adjusted in future updates.
