I was wondering if we could get a player age poll implemented? Possibly not here, but as a sticky someplace on the main board. I post here simply to float the idea.It may shed some light on the demographic interested in this game.
For myself, I'm 45, a professional regulator working for the government, I own my own home and have a family.
I suspect that the age of many players may be older than what is percieved to be the usual early to mid 20's set, and may reflect those that played EQ1 back in the day.
It may also give the powers that be some idea of who they're dealing with. This isn't meant to mean anything more than to infer that they may tailor their interaction to their audience (mate).
If it turns out that the player base is indeed young, all good. It is what it is. I'd just be interested to find out.

Very interesting, but which government? I'm assuming you're referring to the US government but it's a good idea to clarify these thing since you found it pertinent enough to include in your demographic. This community, like the EQ/VG community, extend far beyond the US borders so many will probably wonder.
I'm a 31 year old American Male. I'm originally from the state of Oregon but currently live in Alberta with my fiance. I work as a digital media marketer.

Not the American government, no, but a 1st world "Western" government. I mentioned it for no other reason than to give some idea of the type of career I am in without getting into too much personal detail. Just trying to set the tone to see what sort of community we have.
40 years old, Australian. Work for govt. Partner and two step kids with a crazy mortgage! Been in MMO land since 2006
40, Locksmith, U.S., been a gamer since 1985. Started my MMO career in 2000, but mostly dabbled in games from Asherons Call to DAoC to EQOA. But in 2003 I found FFXI and stuck with that until 2010 when Abyssea expansion ruined it. Been wandering from MMO to MMO ever since...... and lately just sticking with single player games....

I have been RPG'ing since I did dial up sessions of Zork on the Pentagon's BBS back in 1980. As CanadianXegony states, I'll be gaming until I am dragged away from the keyboard, if the last 38 years since I got Pong for my black and white TV are any indication. :) Marriage, job, mortgage, tutoring all bite into my playtime, but some part of every week, until they put me in the ground, will be spent playing a video game.

Your light went out. You have been eaten by a Grue.

Been gaming since I was 19, too many to post. I do this out of pure hobby passion and a lot of people around me don't get the hobby :) Was an EQ player for 9 years.
No kids but have two dogs, two cats and a horse...
I'm from the UK a place called Warrington and I am 21,528 days old and am hoping to last to at least 29,200 if I do then I'll be someone elses burden. However as long as i can keep dragging my PC with me then all is good!
I've been gaming since late 90's and played most of the online games out there and made so many friends and only a small amount of ignores in them games too. Scared to think how much I have paid to play all them games too. But pound for pound best money I ever spent for the pleasure and return I have ever had on the planet. I work from home and show people how to save money on their bills so work when I like but get a passive income from it which allows me to play games as and when I want too.
I'm a single parent and brought my son up alone and he is now old enough to fly the roost, so now I'll be able to get more epic time into a game worth it... I do miss VG though and am currently playing on Project 1999 The Scars of Velious server as Weewolf or Madmedic waiting for this to come out so I have a new home.
