  warrior: sword

  ranger: bow

  mage: spellbook

  priest: holy symbol

  rogue: lockpicks

  druid: pouch of marijuana...

  Thought about this again,

  It would be very interesting if the item you got in the beginning was not as good as the items that dropped from enemies around you. And also, perhaps the item that you get in the beginning can be broken down to enhance something and create early interest in crafting.
