Amazing sunsets, beautiful lakes and picturesque landscapes are just some of the views that are common in Pantheon, what are some sights that you enjoy or that inspire you to explore?

Stunning Kilsin, nice screen caps (on the new rig!).  Don't forget urban scenes as well...soaring regal districts to seedy underbelly.  Some great adventures / discoveries often lay hidden down a dark alley, deep in the sewers under a city or atop a majestic spire.  Any place can hold wonder for the curious.  I can't wait to see The Keeper's chambers...I bet there is a lute there.

Oh Wow! These are amazing! My Interest was fading, but now has been revived! Thank you for these!

Edit: Huge fan of landscapes, sunsets, and water in games period, but combine the three from a monutain top or hill side somewhere and boom you have perfection.

Another round of great landscapes.  Love the almost translucent lakewater and the transition from grassy hills to snow capped mountains.

Things that really drive my desire for exploration are unique natural settings that showcase a dev's creativity and personal touch.  A massive waterfall, unique rock formations, or hidden grotto which distill the feel of a zone into a memorable landmark.

Slowly running toward above-ground dungeons, forts, and castles from afar, like coming across Karnor's Castle in the middle of Dreadlands. Faint outlines appear over the horizon at first, but slowly shape into tall foreboding ominous cold stone bastions of danger with the promise of fun, adventure, and reward. Observing large castles and keeps from a distance always incites my imagination to firing on all cylinders, especially if it's a place I havn't already explored every square inch of.

I love coastlines, myself. It doesn't have to be an ocean coastline ... just a very large lake will do. I loved just running my horse up the coastline of the huge lake bordering West Karana in EQ. And that was back in the day when they couldn't get water to look *just* right. I can't wait to see what you guys do with water with today's graphics capabilities.

I love the sight of a character creation screen - especially when the character that is created can then play - even if it is only alpha or beta . Soon (TM)

I love sunrises and sunsets.  It's amazing how it's a bit different every time.  I've been taking a picture of the sunrise every day that I'm at work, lately.  My plan is to eventually turn one of them into an oil landscape.  That first shot would make a good painting.

Have to admit, I would be the one that will immediately jump in that lake and swim to the bottom, looking around!  Bodies of water always intrique me...  I hope we can see some rivers or streams that are active to eventually lead into some waterfalls.  I usually am drawn to bodies of water like large lakes or coastal areas.

This is exactly what I was going to say. I love seeing a tower, castle, or fortress in the distance and instantly wondering what's inside. I much prefer dungeons over outside zones.

I'd also add cave entrances to the list of things that pique my interest. Pretty much the only reason I played Minecraft was just exploring as many caves as possible in survival mode. Nothing like never knowing how far, deep, and dark the cave is gonna go and what sorts of crazy creatures and treasure are down there! :D

Cliffs overlooking an ocean, mossy forests with viney trees, a keep with your flag waving above, mountains meeting the sea...

Huge, misty waterfalls. I can idle by them for hours, listening to the rushing, churning waters.

Falls of all kinds: Waterfalls, Sandfalls, Glacial Falls, Lava Falls. Deserts with heat waves in the distance; is it an oasis on the horizon or a sand giant coming toward us?

    Also, cramped colorful cityscapes. Think:

I remember getting chills going down the side of the hill into Castle Mistmore. Seeing the full view of terror I was walking into willingly lol.

I creamed my pants looking at that sky box, so beautiful!!!!!

Ruins and ominous locations in the distance do the trick, I love to explore new zones.

Unrelated question,  will there be fog of war or similar effects that reduce the max view distance? and will mobs "pop" in as I get close or will they allways be visible from really far away?

Any place unexpected:  I love coming across a long-forgotten place.  Like City of Mist, buried in the jungles of the Emerald Forest. The abandoned mausoleum outside the entrance to Castle Mistmoore.

The semi-civilization way down in the bottom of Crystal Caverns.

But, what I really like is a "feel" more than a "sight".....I love to behold any sight that makes me feel the world is *HUGE*.  I don't care if it's a complicated, elaborat zone or something simple the West Commonlands.  I love the ocean being so big it feels "real".

Also, those pics are gorgeous but they feel a bit congested.  Landmark made that mistake (ten times worse) and they had no loping plains or gentle rolling hills - it made for a claustrophobic gaming experience - although outdoors, you couldn't see very far in front of you and it felt like being indoors.

I want to see purple waves of grain, miles and miles of desert and grasslands as far as the eye can see, oceans that stretch from hozion to horizon.  Instead of a landscape blocked and broken up and overly busy - I want to see wide open spaces.

Yes this so much! I love running across an open cave entrance. I'm even more excited when they are small, and not easily seen/found. I then must see whats in them!

    This.

Please give us large expanses of flatlands. Hills and mountains at every turn can become monotonous. Sometimes I want to climb out of a valley and just stare at endless grassy fields, with a lone tree shooting up and breaking the horizon

    I personally Like mountains...

I also like finding caverns in said mountains and find that most games tend not to put caverns anywhere but at the base of mountains...if I have a tricky trip up a mountainside and near the summit I find a cave...bet your bottom dollar I will go in.

I like a little bit of it all. Floating islands, civilizations in the trees, a lone oasis sitting in the middle of a scorching windy desert full of life, waterfalls, caves full of dangerous cliffs and winding paths, grassy plains as far as the eye can see, colonies of giants and their massive forts and cities that can be seen from miles away, ruins full of undead, breathtaking underwater reefs and hidden cities. I think we are going to be surprised with what we haven't seen yet and I can't wait.
