Speaking of web maintenance, is there any word on the Website upgrade/overhaul that was hinted at several months ago?

I wish they could add the name of who starts threads, especially in the introduce section.  It's hard to keep track of those threads.

No, there is no website upgrade mate, we are moving away from SocialEngine forums to vBulletin forums and we will announce it when it is close to being ready, in the meantime, we continue to work hard on the backend, permissions, eCommece and security of the new forum solution to get it up to standards and ready for large volumes of traffic.

That is one of many issues with these SocialEngine forums mate, we can't wait to move tot he new ones for that reason and many others but we will not waste any more time trying to sticky tape these ones together, it is better spent preparing the new forums, where that issue will no longer be a problem :)

Could I suggest that you look closely at the XenForo software for forums rather than vbulletin?   As someone who started with vbulletin and moved away from it, I can tell you that there are a LOT better options out there than vbulletin.....

We did have a look at XenForo and several others but we need a package that is suitable with our backend, IT, eCommerce and account management for the game, Xenforo and a few others didn't have what we needed and we would have needed to invest a lot more to get it up to the requirement for us to use, so it just wasn't something we could go with, vBulletin will do everything we need and provide that backend solution, while allowing us to easily integrate and manage accounts, eCommerce and everything else we need to manage, so while it is not perfect by any means, it was the best fit for us.
