Although I am truly a lover of both cats and dogs, dogs are a pain in the ass to keep. I had dogs most of my life and they were always a problem if you needed to go away for a day or 2. Cats on the other hand are great. give them a large bowl of water and dry food, fill thier cat box and away you go. Besides Cat races in mmo's are much nicer looking than dog races. I have 2 cats now and we all vote for cat races before dog races.
Primal, antropormorphic races would be a nice addition. Everquest and it's consitutent games always had a large variety of races to choose from. A bear race would be something different among the franchise. They are kind of like dogs, but more exotic and totally hugable. Just avoid he claws and GtG :3.

Maybe if don right. But please for the love of god no panda the way it has been done in that other mmo
A Jackal type race would be cool... ultimate trackers/hunters, great rogues, wizads... would be fun. Think of the army of Anubis in the movie The Mummy, something similar but still different.
Vandraad said:No. No dogs, no cats or frogs or lizards or koalas or kangaroos. What we need are Howler Monkeys. A player race with a prehensile tail that actually works so when adventuring you can hang upside down from branches and stuff.
We definitely need drop bears! haha :D
My favorite feature of the Everquest franchise was the large diversity of races you could play as. Humanoids, Lizard and Dragon Folk, Cats, and even Rats and Frogs. I'm sad that other games haven't managed to capture this type of diversity due to cost and would welcome any race that fits outside the mold while still being lore friendly.

Aye. Honestly, I think it is also a really good way to stand out as well by taking the time to have notably different player races that aren't just upright human model with cat/dog/rat/wolf/fox/lizard/dragon features tacked on. Hit me with some lesser humanoid hunched kobolds, gnolls, ratfolk and lizardfolk with their forward leaning necks with paws and claws; frogs with their webbed feet and hopping movement animation or snakes with no legs and a slither for movement (this would be amazing btw) as playable races. Almost every list I see when searching for most diverse or interesting MMO races are just different colored human after different colored human.
Hit us with the digitigrades, unguligrade, and undulating creatures.
