Bypass looting to use skinning when inventory is full

Ran into this sort of situation a lot during test. All your inventory slots are full, but you have a partial stack of, say, tattered hides. You kill a rat, and it has lootable items such as rat blood, which you don't have any partial stacks of, or the lootable item is something that doesn't stack. There's no way to bypass the looting step and go straight to skinning, hoping to get more tattered hides, which you do have room for. You have to destroy something in your inventory to free up a slot, loot the item you might be fine with ignoring, and then get to skinning. Unless this is a dilemma that's there on purpose, can we get a way around it? Either a way to skip the looting step, or else a way to destroy an item on the corpse? In EQ you can pick up the item from the corpse onto your cursor, then drop it on the ground without it ever going into inventory. In Pantheon the equivalent would be picking it up onto your cursor, then clicking outside your inventory to bring up the destroy yes/no confirmation popup.
