In the immortal words (that everyone knows who said): "It is a GOOD day to die"
jumping and climbing puzzles
I never thought of that till now. While I didn't much like jumping puzzles in past games, a climbing puzzle sounds awesome!
Puzzles and jumping are fine for those that want them - and can do them (good enough vision, reflexes and connection in the case of jumping). Their proper niche is to give extra optional challenge and extra optional rewards. They should never, ever, block significant content from those that can't or won't do them.
And when group content requires jumping or other activities requiring good vision, reflexes, etc - in other words tied to *player* attributes not to *character* attributes - only one person should be needed to do it. It is enormously frustrating for a full group to be blocked from progressing in a dungeon because one or two people don't have the vision or dexterity to make a tricky jump.
Few of us want to see in LFG or chat "Three characters wanted for raid. Players must be 14-22 years old with 20-20 vision."
Man, am I ever *HOOKED* on that single player game you're referring too. What a breath of fresh air it's success has been.
No no. I disagree with the notion that content be accessible to a solo player regardless of challenge. If a puzzle requires cooperation then you need to find a friend. If the challenge to you is now "find a friend" that will be the most rewarding of successes. Plenty of content, story and quests can be requiring a group to solve any number of puzzles and encounters.
Can't find a friend? Then you have a skill set yet to learn.
Have dumb friends? Then you all get to learn and grow together.
Refuse to make friends? Then a local medical professional specialist focusing on interpersonal relationships is recommended.

I agree with Dorotea here. I hope that VR shies away for any heavy platforming. Having to jump a gap now and then is one thing is probably OK; especially if there is another way across such as climbing or a rope. The reason I say this is because the fantasy MMO is where people can go to do things that they physically can't do; such as swordfighting and climbing cliffs and casting spells. Platforming requires real world physical prowess that will exclude some percentage of the community. I know that can be taken to an extreme, there is no way to be inclusive of absulutely everyone while still keeping the game engaging enough to a large enough audience that it will continue to exist. It's a balance I guess.
It's definitely a tough line to find!! Can't make things so easy that everyone can do them, and can't make them too difficult that almost no one can do them.
With that said, I am totally ok with them creating content that I will never experience.
