Because I'm stuck at home in lockdown, I'm going way back... (who am I kidding - I'm a volunteer recluse - the lockdown has barely changed me!...)

    1980s
    Read lots of mythology tales
    Read The Hobbit
Read The Warlock of Firetop Mountain and various other Fighting Fantasy books
Played ZX81: 3D Monster Maze, Pimania, Mazogs, etc
    Introduced to Tunnels & Trolls
Played ZX Spectrum: The Hobbit, Lords of Midnight, Alchemist, Valhalla, Tir Na Nog, Bored of the Rings, etc
Found Car Wars (and Sunday Drivers)
    Picked up Dungeons and Dragons
Picked up Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. Played off-and-on until around 1998
Tried Warhammer (not so big on war games, though)
    Tried Warhammer FRP
Board games like Talisman and War of the Ring
Played Amstrad CPC: Secret of Monkey Island, Heroes of the Lance, etc
Played Ataris ST: Gauntlet II, Dungeon Master, etc

    1990s
Still playing AD&D pen & paper
    Tried Call of Cthulu
    Tried Shadowrun
Played PC: Ultima(s), Might and Magic(s), Wizardry 6+, etc.
    EVERQUEST!!!

    2000+
Lots and lots of PC RPGs and others
Not so much pen and paper or board games
    MMORPGs...
Everquest (until GoD, but it went downhill from PoP, IMHO. went back every now and again for the odd expansion, but was disappointing)
Dark Age of Camelot (liked it, but never got into Realm vs Realm so it got stale)
Anarchy Online (Not for long. Was a mess)
Everquest II (played into the desert expansion. Couple of years)
World of Warcraft (Enjoyed Burning Crusade, but Wrath of the Lich King turned it and Pandaria killed it for me)
Guild Wars (Fun for a while)
    Dungeons and Dragons Online (Disappointing)
Lord of the Rings Online (Excellent, but ruined as they made it easier and easier)
Age of Conan (Fun but flawed)
Aion (Fun but weird and flawed)
Warhammer Online (Fun but flawed and died before it could be fixed)
    Star Trek Online (Disppointing. Limited)
Rift (Good in many ways, but limited and made easier and easier)
Star Wars The Old Republic (Innovative, but limited and got boring)
Guild Wars 2 (Fun for a while. Some good sounding mechanics that weren't)
The Secret World (Excellent atmosphere and quests. Very limited combat and progression)
    Defiance (Got boring quick)
Elder Scrolls Online (Fun but limited action set made combat/encounters boring. Little class choice)
    Wildstar (Fun, but too twee)
Black Desert Online (Just felt wrong. Felt like a console action combat game. End game PvP focus I guess)
Everquest P99 (Great fun for a while until reaching the frustrations of the high level game and community)

And that brings us up to the last few years of various very brief disappointing trials of things like Archeage (ugh) scatterings of re-installing ones like Rift, ESO and LOTRO and playing for a little while and yearning for Pantheon.
