Nice video but the position of Whitethaw is not necessarily where you put it .

On the map we see the north pole and tropical desertic regions on the bottom part . So what it is showing is a part of the northern hemisphere limited by the pole on the top and somewhere between equator and the northern  tropic on the bottom .

As we know that Whitethaw is glacial , there are 2 possibilities :

Either it is near the northern pole and in this case it would be pretty high on the right or left side of the map . In this case all 3 continents would be in the northern hemisphere .

Or it is near the southern pole and then there would be a huge ocean separating the 2 northern continents from Whitethaw . But this case would not be very believable because the lore is telling us that there were regular contacts with the dwarves and that would neither be easy nor fast if there was an ocean of the size of Pacific between them .

Not all Glaciers are at one of the Pole's. Sometimes they are just due to being really really high up in a mountain.

For example, Wikipedia has a list of: USA Glaciers and while most are found in Alaska, there are many in the southern areas of the country as well, which is definately not part of a Polar region. There are 20 named Glaciers in California alone.

    Of course but :

    a) I was talking about glacial regions and not glaciers . Those are 2 different things - no town can be built on a glacier (because it moves) while towns are built in glacial regions .

    b) The lore teaches us that the Dwarves live in a tundra region . The area of the alpine high altitude  tundra decreases when the latitude decreases . So while it is sure to find large tundra areas in polar regions ,  it is less probable in lower latitudes where their area is much smaller .

    c) If the Dwarves lived in a region where temperate climate coexists with high altitude tundra , it wouldn't make sense to create a town in high altitude tundra rather than in the temperate climate at lower altitudes . The latter provides wood , hunt and agriculture what the former doesn't . If the Dwarves live in a tundra it is probably because there was nothing better around .

That's why the Occam's razor ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor ) suggests that we should privilege explanations with the fewest assumptions what is obviously in this case that the Dwarves live in a polar region - either North or South .

This depends totally on the Lore, Physical makeup, and Culture of the race in question. As an Earth Human you may feel that low altitude temperate climate is preferable, because due to your physical makeup and Earth experience this is most comfortable for you. But perhaps Dwarfs come from a world where all regions are what we would consider 'high altitude tundra' and their physical makeup makes this perfectly comfortable. So to them, they may think "why build in the overly warm lower altitude climate with oppressive tree coverage and very little caves and rock, when there is a much preferable high altitude rocky tundra climate available."

According to the lore, Whitethaw actually will be located to the south of Reignfall. There actually is nothing to debate about it, other than exactly how far south it will be:

"They quickly established a foothold in the southern tundra, naming the area Khadassa, meaning "Khazas’ Reach", after their king." (Source: https://www.pantheonmmo.com/races/dwarves/ )

"This is the current, known world of Terminus, as expeditions from Kingsreach and Reignfall have only just begun. However, reports are already coming in from the great regions of the East and the frozen reaches of the South..." (Source: https://www.pantheonmmo.com/lore/atlas_of_terminus/ )

"the continent of Reignfall, and the Archai of Roa to the south, in the realm of Whitethaw and nearest to the Dwarves and Khadassa." (Source: http://pantheonmmo.com/lore/the_age_of_chaos/ )

The atlas we have now is incredibly outdated, so there's not much benefit to extrapolating much from the details. Aradune pointed out that one of the nice things about the lore of Terminus is that it is made up of fragments of other worlds. These collisions can occur at any part of the world, which means that the ecology of different regions may not be the same as it is on earth:

"The idea of different pieces of planets colliding with Terminus, bringing new races, their architecture, their gods, etc. gives us a ton of creative freedom and a really fun sandbox to play in.  Part of that freedom means that one region of the world doesn't have to make sense geographically when compared to an adjacent region.  The topography can totally change and in a surprising, unexpected, and yes, 'unrealistic' ways.  Yes, this includes the directions rivers may seem to be running or any other 'anomaly' you may perceive in the atlas.  Pantheon's world is truly fantasy, with an emphasis on the fantastic.

I realize this is different than, say, Middle Earth.  I'm a huge Tolkien fan, I assure you, but so many 'fantasy' worlds (in novels, games, etc.) have also been crafted to be 'realistic fantasy' that we decided to take a different approach with Pantheon, similar to our different (non-traditional) approaches to some of the playable races, etc.  Too much 'sameness' is something MMOs have been struggling with, IMHO."

    (Source: https://www.pantheonmmo.com/content/forums/topic/2184/updated-map )

This means that there's really nothing stopping them from putting another temperate climate even more south than Whitethaw. To survive in Terminus, you must think outside the box ;)
