As someone that's been playing MMOs since Ultima Online, one thing I've really grown tired of over the years is casters adorned in robes, and little else in terms of how they appear cosmetically. Robes have their place, obviously, but I'd really love to see full armour sets for casters which don't have a chest piece which covers the rest of the set.
Anyone else hoping for something other than the stereotypical robe for their Wizard, Enchanter et cetera?
Let's hope VR make casters a little more unique in Pantheon, as I'm not sure I can stomach another game where my main is limited to yet another loosely fitting dress!
here you go :)

Man or WOman a robe that looked so gay :P
lmao sure but the protection will be weaker . leather/ cloth/metal plusses minuses but should be something inbetween for robe wearers :) meaning do we all need the lavender eq2 robes that every single caster wore . felt like barney's club ( nothing wrong with Barney ) . seriously though in 20 years most games have robes well there are whats called half robe thereare , i dream of genie garb plenty of things but a ugly robe is still a ugly robe . no matter how you look at it :)
just reminded me of my mages bloomers with stars n moons in eq . nice touch :)

Like the Emrbiodered armour set in GW2. serious I dream of genie vibes
I think a easy way to solve this is if you got a robe you really love looking at you can choose to have it close, as its the only thing you see, but if you have other items you can open it up to express your entire attire, that way for short term situations or even long depending on the person, and once you have your setup you can choose the other option, or chosse it anyway simply becuase you like that look more.

no worries your eyes will adjust :P
It would be kinda neat if I can recreate this outfit for a caster type in Pantheon
Though considering the era this game seems to take place in. Yeah, I guess this look from my last caster type class will just have to remain in the dead game "Wildstar"along with my Esper toon, god i miss my little mind projectionist.
Absolutely agreed, robes for casters have their place and I think it would be nice to see some that exist, perhaps with certain passive effect lines or active clickies attached to them.
But in general it would be nice to see more diverse armour and attire for casters.
I like the ideas above by Fulton.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Human_male_light_armor GW2 has some nice light armour (caster) options and variety for example.
