What Bartle says:
This result may be abbreviated as SEAK
I pretty much spent my whole EQ career with one good friend running around doing random things, like hunting for Beer Goggles once we discovered they existed. Leveling was always secondary.
In general I gravitate towards challenging coop games.
So overall I think the Bartle Test described my gaming style accurately.
Maybe it's just because this is a pet peeve of mine but, so forgive me if this sounds rude.... Is it just me or does the guy who put together this test not really understand what % (percentage) actually means?
How can you be 73% one thing and 60% another thing?
It would make sense if he just called it Bartle points and said something like: 'You have 73 Bartle points in Socialiser' and 'you have 60 Bartle points in Explorer'. But the moment you use % to describe something you can't have them add up to more than 100%.
It just makes me lose faith in the validity of this test. It's like saying "Here is some proof that I don't know what I'm talking about, but you should trust my assessment of you!"
Note: Richard Bartle didn't actually make the test... somebody else made the test based on Bartle's article about the kinds of players of MUD's.

Your confusion is very understandable. When measuring human traits there can be overlap.
Picture those percentages as 4 overlapping Venn diagrams and hopefully that helps it make more sense.
However, your lack of faith in the Bartle test being highly scientific (as in having High reliability and validity) is well-placed.
It is old, based off MUD populations, not MMO populations, etc.
I just used it to have fun, that’s all. Just having fun.

It’s interesting if you’re into the subject, which I am.
Anyway, back on topic- the more I think about it, a Bard just might be how I go.
Cant wait for anything about Bards to be hinted, leaked, teased, .... really, anything! Bards could be awesome explorers, of course I’m going off of EQ bards, but I couldn’t got over the song twisting. Hopefully tha mechanic will have evolved.
we drink to our youth, for days come and gone
for the age of lootboxes is just about done
we'll drive out the greedcloaks and restore what we own
with our keyboard and our mouse, we will take back our games
down with ea, the killer of studios
on the day of your death, we will drink and we'll sing
we're the children of gaming, and we game all our lives
and when gameover beckons every one of us dies
but this land is ours and we'll see it wiped clean
of the scourge that has sullied our hopes and our dreams
down with ea, the killer of studios
on the day of your death, we will drink and we'll sing
we're the children of gaming, and we game all our lives
and when gameover beckons every one of us dies
@Stellarmind
Thanks for the Bardic response!

It was amazing and it was huge! Looking forward to that again as well.
87% Explorer
53% Achiever
40% Socialiser
20% Killer

Same here
Yeah this fits me pretty well, and I love playing pet classes so I have a companion with me while I run through the world. Summoner is the first class I plan to play, followed by an alt for each class. I like to try and be part of guilds but it usually doesn't work out because of my inconsistent hours.
